With the help of SignAll Learn Lab, even a child can learn ASL

SignAll Learn Lab was recently made compatible with people of smaller bodies – more specifically, children.

As with any update, testing was required to ensure that the system accurately recognizes and processes the children’s signing.  Therefore, we invited a group of 15 students ages 10-11 to our Budapest base. One-by-one, the children took turns signing with the system, while the others were kept busy in a variety of activities. They communicated with a native signer, learned about the Deaf community and culture from both deaf and hearing SignAll team members, deepened their knowledge about proper communication with the Deaf, and even watched a part of a Harry Potter movie in sign language.

"As a 21st-century after-school program focused on both English and information technology, we value the cooperation that allows kids to take part and learn more about cutting edge technologies and improvements, while practicing English along the way. Taking part in these mutually enriching events is a great pleasure for us."

"We are happy to engage with future generations and to encourage them to learn American Sign Language.  Another positive outcome of this cooperation is confirming that our product is ready to be used in schools for teaching kids, starting as young as 10 years old,"

The event generated a lot of buzz from the media. We have already collected 22 articles in print and online. Perhaps the most noteworthy of this media attention was the visit from Hungary’s national radio station, Kossuth Rádió. They came to our office to learn more about the system and the children’s day event and to make a story about it.
